Lean On Me -sold

oil on canvas panel 4x4 inches
So glad it's cherry painting season again. After fiddling around with half a dozen cherries in different arrangements, this pair appeared just as they are. I seldom see a deeper meaning in fruit, but to me this looks like a male and female cherry...married a long time...maybe about 35 years...the kids are grown and gone...their stems are starting to dry up...okay, somebody stop me.

  5. Love this one. I like the loose brush strokes over the underpainting in the background. Good values in the cherries, and the reflected light really makes them have volume. Cute story!

  6. I'm laughing because he broke his hip last year and needs a little help getting out of the bowl. She is ready to travel after his long working career. She stayed home with the kids but is cheery and vibrant...and now, this.
