On a recent beach day the sun tried to burn through the clouds, but it remained pretty cold and overcast all day. My photo reference for this would have been better with a clear division of light and shadow, but I couldn't resist my little granddaughter's pose and her polka-dot suit. I used what I had and painted the existing conditions.
You know, I really like the softer tones here- I've seen lots of sunny beach paintings and this is nicely different. I like the subtlety, and I like her pose.

ReplyDeleteSo many parts are great. The hair is amazing. I love the placement of the toys. The harmonizing pinks and of course the punch of her swimsuit. Another winner!
