Ode To Yellow -a still life painting in oil -SOLD

oil 8x8 inches magnify/purchase info Here's a still life I painted back in August with the idea that it might become a series, you know, "Ode to Green", Ode to Blue", etc. Well, it didn't. The bird is a mechanical one that chirps when it senses movement in the room. Thanks to all who visited my booths at Newport Beach and Tustin these last two Saturdays. Thank you for your purchases and interest in my work. My next event is "Art Uncorked" in Chino, November 14 from 4-8pm. Come enjoy the work of about eight artists, local food samplings, wine and beer. Tickets through Event Brite $30, or $40 at the door. Chaffey College Community Center, Chino. Proceeds help support the arts in Chino.

  1. Bonsoir chère amie,

Une peinture remplie de soleil avec toutes ces belles nuances de jaune.
    Une composition extraordinaire.

    Gros bisous ❀

    1. Thank you, Martine. Arranging the composition (or "composing" I should say) is one of my favorite parts of painting. I like to spend some time on it. A few times I have painted for hours on a poor composition and ended up wiping off the painting after I realized it was the composition. Lesson learned, but once in a while I have to learn that lesson again! Thank you always for your interest and comments.

    1. Hi Carol, Thank you for your comment. Yes, I love to hear Martine's french. I learned the word "jaune" from years of watching the Tour de France. The overall leader wears a yellow jersey as he rides, then on the podium receives the long sleeved winner's yellow jersey. I watched it every day in July back in my long distance cycling days. Now I paint. ;-)
