Quality Edge

oil on canvas panel 6x6 inches
The next in my series of practicing whites. While painting I consider my edge quality, hard or soft, and this is one of my Cutco knives...so the title plays with both those ideas. I liked the crisp contrast of whites with the dark handle and shadows. This painting is available at Vander Molen Fine Art, Arcadia, CA

  1. This is so beautiful! The values and colors on your fruit make them look so delicious. Really nice job on the whites. I just love everything about it.

  3. Very nice handling of the whites. Glad to see you back on the radar, although I'm sure you had a great time with the grandiose this weekend!

  5. The rich colors of the apples in this and the last are great.

  6. Your paintings are so nicely painted. You would think that the knife would cut the painting off, (no pun intended) but instead it gives it a base and weight at the bottom. Very nice!

  7. Thank you all for your kind comments. Never thought of the knife being a base and weight at the bottom, but I see what you mean, Claudia. Thanks, everybody!
