It's about time I painted some cows. In the 1950's our area had the largest concentration of dairy cows in the nation. When we moved here in the 70's I liked hearing the mooing early in the mornings accompanied by hired hands singing in Spanish. The smell didn't bother me, but the flies were unbelievable. Though housing has replaced the dairies in Chino, there are still plenty within a mile of our house. So I drive around taking pictures of cows. This guy was curious and nervous at the same time--typical.

Look at him! Love the ears, the horns and of course that tuff of hair!
ReplyDeleteUne bonne et belle vache... Sa robe est particulièrement élégante. J'aime sa houppette sur le dessus de sa tête... L'ombre est belle également dans l'herbe aux belles nuances. Une bonne laitière je suppose...
ReplyDeleteBon travail.
Gros bisous
What a great painting, Karen, I like the light you captured on his face. Also love the banner on the top of your blog, new since I visited last.
