click for purchase information and zoom feature The last of my Asian influence paintings for now. This large ceramic rice bowl has a shiny blue glaze and little holes/slots for the chopsticks. Very cool. I think we bought it years back in a little shop near Zion National Park. Kinda big for rice. Maybe it's a noodle bowl. I love noodles.
Love the Asian series. Really liked your idea of tackling the background first. Always a challenge. I think this last one is my favorite. Love the rice bowl. A great color splash.
ReplyDeleteI am loving the Asian paintings. Very interesting reading about your method of painting the background. I haven't been painting still life lately, but I always found painting the background was a problem. I like you idea of painting it first.
ReplyDeleteLove the colors!
ReplyDeleteLove the composition of this and yes that is a nice rice bowl.
ReplyDeleteYour usual marvel of color and brushwork! I especially love the wobbly reflection in the bowl.
