magnify/purchase info For this one I used a daylight bulb to supplement my smallish north light window. I toned with a loose uneven gray wash and purposed to paint a vignette, letting the subject disappear into the edges of canvas.
Sandy on the lookout. Apparently she thinks my guard is down while photographing my painting, so she's helping by watching the gate for intruders. Always a big help!
Hi Karen! Have long enjoyed following your blog...beautiful work, as always! Writing to say that your Sandy is the spitting image of my Mindy! Sandy looks like a little dolly! Can I ask if she's Maltese, or poodle, or a mix? Ours is a rescue so they told us she was a mix. Not sure though. Best, Cheryl from Calgary,, AB, Canada.
ReplyDeleteThank you for following my work, Cheryl. You got it! Sandy is a malte-poo. There are many many just like her here in So Cal.
Delete:) I bet she's an awesome studio supervisor! Mindy sure is. Interesting, I believe she originally came from either the San Diego or San Moreno shelter. She was sure surprised when she saw snow in our backyard for the first time! Keep up the beautiful work!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Cheryl. Sandy has recently taken up chasing bunnies in our yard. It took her about 5 months to adjust to our move. In our old house she had a doggie door to the back where there were no critters but her. Now, no doggie door because of coyotes. But she has other company: rabbits, possums, and skunks. She thinks we're living in the wild!
