Tangerine Mug

oil on canvas panel 6x6 inches
This one was barely spared from the wipe off. The tangled and dried leaves were difficult...their shape and form being not the norm. Anyway, I liked the mug so I did what I tell my watercolor students to do--just keep going.

  1. Interesting what we see as possible wipe-offs...and what others see as a beautiful painting. I really like this piece, Karen. I think the leaves are loose and so well done. The light catches them in all the right places. The overall colors coordinate beautifully. The shadows of both mug and leaf are excellent. I'm glad you persevered.

  2. Karen - what I noticed first about this was the amazing warm glow the tangerines are creating inside the mug. Really great!
