My mom grew up during the depression.  She didn't waste anything.  She cut buttons off of old clothing and saved them in a cold cream jar.  You can see one of her old wooden spools of thread inside this antique mason jar.  I have enjoyed painting mom's buttons several times.

• I'll be doing a demo on ZOOM Wednesday the 8th of Sept. at 7pm Pacific Time.  This is for the Anaheim Art Association.  I'm not sure, but you may be able to attend via ZOOM.  Visit the Anaheim Art Association Website and contact them. 
• The BALBOA  ART WALK is on!  SEPTEMBER 26 from 9-5 along the south bayfront sea wall.  100 artists plus live music!  I'll be near Pearl Drive and the fuel dock.  Park in the Balboa Pier  parking lot on the penninsula, take the ferry to the island on foot, and turn left when you get off the ferry. I'll have framed and unframed work for viewing and sale.  I hope to see you!

Happy Mother's Day to everyone! I spent the day with my mom, taking her to her church she loves so much, then lunch where there's free WiFi and reading to her from my laptop all my blog posts from February forward. She doesn't use the computer and wants to see every painting and hear every word. Ahhh....a mother's love! Last night, in anticipating our day together, I spilled out her old buttons from her cold cream jar (remember cold cream?), found a pleasing arrangement and painted away. I love the color and abstract quality. Mostly, I love my mom. The photo below was taken of us on her 90th birthday last September. She's an amazing lady with a mind still sharp as can be!

I may not be able to post for a few days. My daughter-in-law and granddaughter are coming from Idaho for a few days. Lots of family fun up ahead!
