I don't really drink a lot of wine, but I sure think the bottles are beautiful. In this painting I set out to create an abstract quality of design and also variation of transparency vs. opacity in paint application. I really like how this one turned out. I think the image is a bit blurry. The painting itself is crisp. Tomorrow I'm going out of state to visit family, so I won't be posting for a while. Thank you for your interest in my work.

Here I'm teaching composition, color mixing, paint application and edges. These delightful ladies were fun and highly motivated. I love teaching and their enthusiasm adds so much to the weekend! Here they are with the work they're most pleased with.

oil 8x8 inches For a closer look and purchase info click here. We visited artsy Cannon Beach, Oregon a few years ago. This great old house was a studio gallery. Once in a while I like to use a completely different type of brush just to keep things fresh. I normally use flats or filberts, but this was done with synthetic brights. I really enjoyed the resulting geometric marks. IN OTHER NEWS: NEWPORT BEACH ART IN THE PARK is this Saturday. I tried out Unbleached Titanium for the first time, and found it worked well in mixtures for the "white" of the pumpkin. To see more pumpkin paintings, look down to "labels" and click on pumpkin/s.
