Flowers abound in the Spring at Mission San Juan Capistrano!  A couple of years ago I planted myself in a shady spot and enjoyed painting this view, which is a favorite of other plein air painters as well.  This painting is beautifully custom framed and is currently available in person at Mission Fine Art Gallery, directly across the street from the Mission.

Come To The Fountain -a plein air painting from The Huntington Library and Gardens

oil 9x12 inches For a closer look and purchase info click here. This piece is from my work in May. I found a cool and quiet spot in the Huntington's gardens to paint this fountain. I'm still backlogged with paintings I haven't posted yet, but on July 4th I sprained my shoulder. It's not my painting arm, but still I may be limited. I painted the next day and ended up in a lot of pain, so we'll see. I just might get caught up on my postings.

oil 9x12 inches magnify/purchase info Friends and I drove south to paint at Mission San Juan Capistrano last week. The fountains were overgrown with foliage in a beautiful way. What a peaceful place to paint. The image is cropped a bit close. In the painting there's more space above the cross and below the fountain.
