Sizzlin' -a still life painting from my kitchen SOLD

oil 8x8 inches Get a closer look & see purchase info here. I had some pre-cooked bacon. Dropping the egg in, it became a still life right there on my stove. I took a picture with my iPhone. Later and for the first time, I used blue painter's tape to stick my phone up onto an mdf board just inches from my painting panel. Since that day I have taped my phone up to paint a few botanicals. It makes painting from photos practically painless. (It helps if you have a big phone, and you have to set your display auto-lock to "never") I'll try to include a picture of this in a future post.

The Lovely Egg -sold

oil 6x6 inchesclick here to bidMy submission to the Daily Paintworks challenge. This color combo excited me right away, but I thought I'd be nuts to try and paint that pattern with the glass and all, and my painting time was limited. Tried other simpler things, but went back to this because it still excited me the most.

Scramble Ready -sold

oil on canvas panel 6x6 inches
No shipping until after Aug. 9

Most days this scene is part of my morning routine. Still thinking yellow and blue, the egg yolk fit the bill, and luckily the brown with blue is another favorite combo of mine. The fork was added for line amid all the round shapes.

Lazy-Eyed Egg-sold

oil on canvas panel 6x6 inches
sold
Lots of daily painters paint cracked eggs. I've always thought it was an odd subject, but it was fun to paint. I did this one just before we left on our trip. Maybe it's just me, but I almost always see a face in them...hence the title.
We had a wonderful trip, but it's good to be home and tomorrow I'll get back to my painting routine. Hooray!
