The title came to me first with the idea of using the three primaries. A neutral gray might show off the pure color bands, but how to tone the canvas? I thought if all three primaries were peeking through the gray, that would be cool...so below is a shot of my beginning. It's an interesting approach that I might try again.

Yellow & Red On Blue

It was SO good to get back to painting after a forced break. A simple subject is a good place to start and fruit fits the bill. On a top shelf in my refrigerator the yellow and red side by side caught my eye. I love red with thalo blue, so the cloth brought in the third primary. In the next few days I'll be busy at Associated Artists' Fall Show. I'll be painting at my sales table Friday through Sunday. If you're in the area, don't miss this great show. Come on by and say hi!
