Last fall I turned off the lights in my studio and positioned my plein air easel near the open door for just enough light to see what I was doing.  I lit a candle in this happy little glass pumpkin and dropped a handful of candy.  Custom framed in an antique gold (not shiny) frame.  Ready to hang with your other fall decor!  If you're considering a purchase, please email me for a picture of it in the frame.  Happy Fall, everyone!

I remember the day in November when I painted this little painting.  I had wiped off the first attempt which was quite a bit larger.  It came togther nicely in this size. The pom, apple and crooked little carrot were from our backyard.  This time of year, our pomegranate is just beginning to leaf out, it's almost time to plant carrot seeds, and the apple tree still has a ways to go before it is leafy.  Spring is coming!

I tried out Unbleached Titanium for the first time, and found it worked well in mixtures for the "white" of the pumpkin. To see more pumpkin paintings, look down to "labels" and click on pumpkin/s. These little paintings make nice decor, framed or not on a shelf or small decorative easel. MY DEMO THIS COMING SUNDAY is from 2-4 at 25571 Barton Rd., Loma Linda, CA. Cost is $5. Corny Baby Boo -a still life in oil -sold

If you're thinking about adding this to your Fall decor, it will be dry enough to ship in about 4-5 days. Looks even better in person. The camera doesn't pick up the subtle color shifts in the Baby Boo.

oil 6x6 inches magnify/purchase info Candy Corn is a lot of fun to paint. Painted loosely, those sweet little triangles can add charm and conjure up some happy Fall feelings. I'm especially happy with the unfinished look across the bottom. That's something I try for but don't always get. If you bid on "Perky Pumpkin" but were outbid, this one is "buy now". You can snatch it up for a bit less than the final sale price of "Perky Pumpkin." It needs about 4 days to dry before I can ship.
