This is a favorite of mine. Painted jusst outside my studio door, MacIntosh apples. I do think they are the prettiest apple! Our Japanese Maple trees provided the delicate fall leaves.
In the height of apple season, my neighbors apples hung over our fence so I picked a few. Not only were they sweet, but they had the most delicate coloration. Soft green with hints of pink. I am sorry I'm not a better photographer of my work. The photo just doesn't capture the subtle color of this piece.
Painted last fall, these are heirloom apples from our backyard tree. Also pictured is my favorite little basket to paint. In some of my previous paintings it has held peaches, eggs, and now apples. When the basket is not posing in my studio, it often holds freshly fried tortilla strips for dipping into our home grown guacamole. Yum!
