Magnolia Blossoms III -sold
oil on canvas panel 8x8 inches
SOLD
Well this is the last and my favorite of the magnolia blossom paintings. The mauve surface gave it the look I was after. For the most part I was able to put down a stroke and leave it. For that reason alone it really pays off to paint the same object over and over...especially for us "noodlers". I have to admit, I was relieved when they started shriveling up...I was ready to move on to something else!

Very, very nice, Karen...I really think the mauve background sets off the painting. Beautiful.

A huge wow! I am a bit behind on looking at blogs and I really like all of your magnolia paintings. This last one is my favorite too. Beautiful color, light and brushwork making for beautiful pieces!
ReplyDeleteI love the looser look that you're getting with the "10 minute challenge" approach! Your rose was awesome too.
ReplyDeleteDelicate and lovely!
ReplyDeleteOh Karen, these blossoms are beautiful! My husband is always asking me to paint ours but I could never do anything as wonderful as these!
ReplyDeleteNot surprised that you sold this in less than a day! It is outstanding!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I wish I could paint flowers like you do, they're wonderful!
