Fair Demo #1 SOLD

oil 6x6 Click to Purchase I couldn't for the life of me think of a title for this one. Time to paint an avocado. They were only $1 each at the store. Oil paint lends itself so well to getting that creamy texture inside. Didn't know the pit held so much rich color till I looked real hard. For some reason my camera overdoes yellow. The creamy part is much more subtle in the painting.

This painting is available at Vander Molen Fine Art, Arcadia, CA

Primary Shine SOLD

oil on canvas panel 6x8 inches

Time for something bright and shiny. To the right of this set-up and out of view, there's a white cloth with more lemons and cherries on it. Although not really important in the painting, you can this reflected in the upper right part of the bowl. This painting feels like summer to me.

Citrus & Steel -sold

My little stainless steel bowl was lost in the garage for a while. So glad to have found it so I could paint those fun reflections again. The surface color is bluer than the photo shows.

Red and orange are so juicy together! Compositionally, if the objects were stepping stones, you'd step on the strawberry and follow the path to the steel ring.

Here's a simple subject. The image reflected in the bowl gives the painting added interest and the apple more solidity.

Steel Bowl and Apple -sold

oil on canvas panel 6x6 inches
SOLD
I've been busy with other stuff, and couldn't paint yesterday or today. UGH! I'll get to paint tomorrow. Here is something I did in January.
I'm really fond of this little painting. I was able to keep it somewhat fresh--not overworked, and I like the edges of the apple. The apple seems to vibrate edgewise and colorwise. Really lively compared to my last post, huh?
