Breakfast At Flo's
oil on canvas panel 9x12 inches click for purchase information Flo's is an icon in Chino. Local dairymen, pilots, vets and regular folks know it's the place to go for biscuits and gravy. It's located just down the road at Chino Airport. There between cow pastures you can visit the Planes Of Fame Air Museum and see little private planes coming and going. Lately we're going every Sunday after church. It's busy, but worth the wait. As for the painting, I really did leave out a few things though you might not think so. Kept her face really simple so your eye goes right to that cook trying to keep up with the orders.

Looks like a great place to get breakfast, Karen! I think you got just the right amount of derail..love the lettering on the menu.
ReplyDeleteThis piece resonated with me. I used to fly across the plains, and have landed at some pretty remote places where the local restaurants have provided fuel for my soul as well as my body. Who would have thought this could be successful—outstanding subject matter? I tip my wings to you. Great job! Love the red underpainting, too.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great painting and what a great place to go for breakfast. Wish I could join you!!!
ReplyDeleteLove the colors and composition of this painting. Its nice and loose as well. And I agree, the eye goes to that cook in the back. So many great details.
ReplyDeleteThis is really wonderful Karen! You have given the viewer so many places to rest but still move the viewer's eye around the piece!!
