oil on canvas panel 10x10 inches
Here's my second flute painting for my friend Carol in Oklahoma. (Click on "flute" in labels to see the first one.) She requested red with a taupe background. When I painted the flute I had to take frequent breaks because it took so much tedious concentration. I hope I didn't burn up any brain cells...I don't have any to spare! Too bad the flute part is a bit blurry. For every commission I do, the deal is when the painting is finished the client is under no obligation to buy it. So if Carol passes, this one will be at auction on Ebay.
I think Carol will buy. This is beautiful!

ReplyDeleteThis painting is awesome. I love the composition and the glistening of the flute that you captured!
ReplyDeleteWonderful Karen. Wow.
ReplyDeleteSimply beautiful, Karen....brava.
ReplyDeleteBeautifully done. The reds just glow, and the flute perfectly cropped and painted.
ReplyDeleteYour client would have to like this! The reflections that define the flute are amazing!
ReplyDeleteReally nice painting!
Your color complements are wonderful against the neutrals and the flute, the flute! So shiny and beautiful.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful composition! I just love the way this painting draws your eye around the canvas. The flute is great, and I love the bits of red reflection and fallen petals. But I'm in love with the geraniums! What a wonderful job! Not at all fussy, just the right amount of detail. It's all in the values. Great job, Karen!
