oil on canvas panel 8x8 inches
Yesterday four artist friends and I ventured down to Balboa Island to paint for the day. Everywhere you turn there are interesting things to paint. This house caught my eye. I loved the blues against the natural dark woods. The flowers were the icing on the cake! We ate dinner at Newport Landing overlooking the bay...a perfect day of sunshine, paint and friendship.
That blue door does catch your eye and the painting is very pretty. I enlarged it and the detail and colors you used are really nice.
ReplyDeleteKaren, I'm lovin' the blue door. I've watched your blog for so long, and haven't been able to leave comments til now... halleluiah ! (sp?) anyhoo... LOve your work !
ReplyDeleteI like this but really appreciate all the light and shadow dappling through out just as it should be. Pretty door color against the browns and greys.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Kathy, youve captured the light beautifully
ReplyDeleteReally nice painting, Karen. I like all the wood and architectural details surrounding the door. Love the 115 and the light on the window.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a fun day, painting with friends!
Beautiful in every way. I agree with the other comments about your rendering of the light. Hard, but you did an excellent job! Gorgeous piece!
ReplyDeleteSuch an inviting door Karen! You captured the mood of warmth and fun of friendship.
