It's been a minute since I have posted here on Blogger.  If you have found this post, thank you!  In January I busied myself tremendously with the online "Strada Easel Challenge."  Alas, I did not win a coveted Strada Easel, but I did win lots of valuable daily practice and produced 29 paintings in 31 days.  As you might expect, I would much rather paint that take pics, edit, post, etc, so it will be a long time till you see them here or on my website.  My freshest most current work is always seen on Instagram.  I hope you can follow me there if you're not already.

Lemons from our Meyer tree.  Sometimes they are mistaken for oranges due to their unique yellow color.  I recently learned that a Meyer lemon is a cross between an orange and a lemon.  Their taste is delightfully sweet!

This Christmasy looking cupcake was actually purchased near Memorial Day when red poppy is sometimes given out by veterans. Poppies are a reference to the poem "In Flanders Fields by John McCrae" wherein he speaks of the ultimate sacrifice of soldiers, Marines and Sailors who now lie in fields of poppies.

In 2015 we enjoyed our first trip to Europe.  We spent 14 days in Paris, and one day traveled by train to Giverny and Monet's home and gardens.  It was magical!  I loved how the light streamed into his dining room that day. In January our Navel Orange tree gave us sweet oranges that found their way into several of my paintings.  Orange, red and pink together make a color combination that I love.
