The day after painting "Four O'clock Geraniums" the flowers were still fresh, and I loved the entire set-up, so why not paint the whole thing? My favorite parts are the arching stems and fallen petals and bits. I'd be interested to know which one you like best, yesterday's or today's. By the way, if I spelled deja-vu wrong, please tell me. I looked it up in my 1970 pocket dictionary, and it wasn't there. Imagine that!

Outstanding Karen!
ReplyDeleteReally great, Karen. I loved the painting yesterday, but I think this set up is even more interesting. I like that you can see the water and the diagonal cloth. The flowers aren't as much of the focal point anymore, but they add a beautiful umbrella over the other objects.
ReplyDeleteThey are both great. I like this one best. It's the fallen petals and shadows that I love.
ReplyDeleteI like this one the best! The fallen petals are so sweet!
ReplyDeleteThey are both beautiful. Absolutely. If I really had to choose one, MAYBE it'd be this one. The fallen petals echo the passing of time...feels poignant. BUT, I really like the composition of the earlier one and the partially hidden clock is a subtle surprise. I give up!
ReplyDeleteLove them both! Funny how the changes such as composition really makes it a completely different painting. Really like the fallen petals on this one too!
ReplyDeleteI pick ...both! Really lovely.

Lovely! Wonderful compositions and touches of warm and cool!
ReplyDeleteI love them both too for different reasons. So good to get to use the set up twice! And for such beautiful paintings!
ReplyDeleteThis one really spoke to me! It has such charm and is wonderfully executed. Very lovely.
ReplyDeletethe first one is more dynamic in design. I like the light/shadow on the clock and glass jar. But I feel like to see the rest of them. This one makes me emotional with the clock and the pedal. I like the color combination also.
